Welcome to the Buddy Program for international students of the University of Applied Sciences Koblenz.

The Buddy Programme supports international guest and full-time students in their orientation at the University of Applied Sciences Koblenz by providing them with a Buddy who already knows the university and Koblenz well.

"Internationals"

You are new at the University of Applied Sciences Koblenz, need support and are looking for new contacts? Then the Buddy Program is just the right thing for you!

Your benefits:

You will quickly make new contacts in Koblenz and get to know the surroundings.
You have a contact person for questions about your studies and the organisation at the university.
You can visit all events of the International Office.
You learn more about the German language and culture.
At best, a new acquaintance will lead to an international friendship.

How does the program work:

Register here as "International".
You will receive a confirmation e-mail from the International Office.
Shortly afterwards your buddy will get in touch with you.
Arrange individual meetings with your buddy and take part in the events of the International Office together.

Each semester, the International Office offers a semester program. The semester program is filled with a number of scheduled activities for you to take part in. These include an informal meet and greet for students; seminars and workshops for further academic and personal training; one-day and several-day excursions; an International Evening; as well as other exciting events. During the semester program, you can get in contact with other German and international students to plan a gathering, celebrate a special occasion, or explore Koblenz and the surrounding area together.

If you find you are having problems understanding the material in a given course, you can sign up for a tutorial. Tutorials are being offered for groups of at least five students. Under the leadership of a senior student, this tutorial is offered to you for free and should help you in overcoming the problems you are having with the course material. For questions concerning a tutorial with at least five participants, please contact the International Office at incoming.

Are you looking for an internship, a part-time job, or a permanent position after your studies? If so, we can help you with the application process! Application training seminars occur on a regular basis and are designed to teach you how an application should appear after you are done filling it out, what is important when being interviewed for a position, and how to find the company that suits you best. We want to help paving your way into the regional labour market. The earlier you start getting information, the easier the transition into labour market will work out for you! Interested? Are you an international student at the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences and need assistance in writing an academic paper or bachelor’s/master’s thesis? We are here to answer any questions you may have concerning academic writing regarding, for example, citations, the format or structure. We can also assist you with German grammar and spelling. In order for us to assist you the best way possible, please contact the International Office as soon as you receive your topic at incoming.

International students can apply for a scholarship in a variety of ways:

The DAAD Graduation Scholarship is for international Bachelor and Master students from 4th semester on that need at least one more year to complete their studies. Announcement International Office

Requirements: Good academic standing and the need of financial aid.

DAAD database scholarships for foreigners

For students having problems financing their studies, the university and the Studierendenwerk (student services provider) both offer advice and support.

The student service provider, Studierendenwerk Koblenz, offers you free initital legal consultation for any legal issue you might be having. This could include, for example, problems with your landlord, questions concerning immigration rights, or student financial aid (BAFÖG). If you would like to receive legal advice, you first need to request a certificate of eligibility (German: Berechtigungsschein) at the Service Office on campus which is located in room A042.
