International scientific exchange happens spontaneously and easily! This can be seen by the current visit of an Indian student at the Hochschule Koblenz, in the Department of Materials Engineering in Höhr-Grenzhausen.

The 22-year old Mathematics student, Ishan Yadav from Kharagur in Eastern India, became interested in our university last year after reading an article from Dr. Noel Thomas, Professor and Head of the Department of Materials Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Koblenz in Höhr-Grenzhausen. Ishan sent Prof. Thomas an e-mail and asked if they could work together.
Enthusiastic about the student`s initiative, Dr. Thomas made the necessary arrangements for the students visit to Germany.
Thanks to financial support from the company PANalytical GmbH in Kassel, Yadav is now able to do research at our campus in Westerwald for two and a half months.
Together with Professor Thomas, he is working on the development of computer-aided analysis methods for materials.
During his studies at our university, Yadav particularly appreciates the opportunity to link his theoretical knowledge with practical applications.

From his stay in Höhr-Grenzhausen, Ishan Yadav has also collected numerous impressions of the region and the Middle Rhine Valley. Furthermore, he uses his free weekends to visit the neighbouring countries by train.

The Department of Materials Engineering of the University of Applied Sciences Koblenz regularly attracts students from around the world who appreciate the highly professional environment of the campus in Höhr-Grenzhausen, with its main emphasis on ceramics, the use of applications in training, and the very positive ratio of students to professors. Furthermore, this course of study provides excellent career prospects.

For young people who want to study Materials Engineering with a focus in Glass and Ceramics, there are still openings for October 2012.
