My Exchange Semester at RAC

Hi, my name is Raneem and I’m a Management Sciences student in the German Jordanian university and spending a semester in Germany was a part of my curriculum. I was very happy to spend this semester at RheinAhrCampus in the cosy town of Remagen.

What I particularly enjoyed about this semester was integrating and familiarizing myself with not only the German culture, but also other international cultures. I have come to appreciate Germans concern for the environment through events like Green Erasmus, and came to learn about international holidays like Indian Diwali of which we celebrated.

I was never one to care for historical events but being surrounded by many historical buildings has excited me to learn more about it. Remagen Friedenmuseum, Kölner Dom and Brühl Castle were few of the historic places I was truly fascinated by.

Besides history, Germanys nature is absolutely breath-taking, and to be surrounded by it in the town of Remagen was one of the highlights of this semester. I mostly enjoyed the snow during January.

I took the time to participate in current events and attended a couple of concerts in the city of Düsseldorf, enjoyed a day in Phantasialand, immersed myself in the arts and visited many local galleries.

Overall, it was an unforgettable experience that has taught me a lot more about myself than I thought it would. It was a time of joy, friendships, and challenges of growth.
