A Journey of Growth

Hello, my name is Rasha I am a Management Sciences student from the German Jordanian University. The German year is a part of my curriculum, and I’m very happy that I had the opportunity to be at the RheinAhrCampus in Remagen. Thinking back to before coming to Remagen I had totally different expectations, but I loved the experience I had more than the expectations I had in mind. It’s astonishing how life surprises you with much nicer things than you have expected. It was such a nice experience to get to know people from all over the world and learn about their countries and cultures, to see how different but similar we are. Although I lived in Germany for many years, I enjoyed this semester the most. This opportunity made me see Germany from a different angle. This journey was a journey of growth, self-discovery, and development.

I enjoyed the excursion to the Peace Museum in Remagen, learning about the history that took place in this town and seeing the remaining pieces of the fallen bridge. Also visiting the Christmas markets in Bonn, Köln, and Frankfurt was very heartwarming.

The seminar that was held in university called „Embracing Cultural Diversity “was a very interesting experience. A room full of people from all over the world, India, South Korea, Georgia, Ukraine, Albania, Australia, England, Jordan, Germany, Georgia, Turkey, China. And a lot of interesting workshops, which helped me step out of my comfort zone and learn more about myself.

Moreover the nice meetings that have been organized to get to know each other more were very beautiful. For Diwali for example a gathering was organized, in which we celebrated Diwali together by having dinner, the table was full of a variety of Indian food made by the Indian students and professors. We also lightened the candles and enjoyed the time together.

All in all this semester was very new and refreshing. Definitely an unforgettable memory.
