My Amazing Erasmus Exchange Semester at RheinAhrCampus

Hello everyone, 

My name is Mariam, and I am a Public Health student from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. I have gained a unique experience through the Erasmus exchange program at RheinAhrCampus. This experience primarily involved learning in an intercultural environment and establishing intercultural communications, which are crucial in today's globalized world. 
Studying at Hochschule Koblenz, RheinAhrCampus, was very diverse. 
Since I know German, I attended courses taught in both German and English. I had very interesting modules, which allowed me to gain a lot of knowledge. For example, I took modules such as B25.01 International Competence: Business and Communication, Statistics, Introduction to Health and Social Management, Basics of Health and Social Services, German Business Strategies, Intercultural Studies of Germany, and Presentation Training. 
I had highly knowledgeable professors, who greatly contributed to my learning experience. During my studies, I significantly improved in both languages, as listening to lectures in a foreign language deepens your knowledge drastically. Additionally, I enhanced my writing and presentation skills. 
Along with my studies, I made friends from different countries, including the USA, Australia, Portugal, Jordan, South Korea, and India. We shared our experiences and learned a lot about each other's cultures and countries. 
Remagen's unique location must be noted. One of my favorite activities was cycling along the Rhine River on the beautiful boulevard of Remagen and then enjoying ice cream with friends. Remagen is close to cities like Bonn, Cologne, and Koblenz. Thanks to the German railway system, it is very easy to visit these cities frequently. It was also a wonderful opportunity to visit different German cities, such as Düsseldorf, Mainz, Aachen, and Frankfurt am Main, and experience German culture. 
I particularly loved our excursions to Germany’s wine regions Ahrweiler and Mayschoß, where we tasted different types of German wines. As I am from Georgia, the homeland of wine, I really enjoyed seeing the vineyards, which reminded me of my beloved homeland. Also, I had the opportunity to travel and visit Germany's neighboring countries like Belgium, the Netherlands, and France. 
The Erasmus exchange program provides a truly unique opportunity to study abroad, meet new people, and travel. Special thanks to The Sprachen/Internationales Team, who fully supported us during the exchange semester.
