My experience at RheinAhrCampus
Saba from Georgia, Winter Semester 2020/2021
Hello, my name is Saba and I am from Tbilisi, Georgia. In my blog I want to tell you about my student experience at RheinAhrCampus in Remagen, Germany.
I think it was a really good decision when I chose RheinAhrCampus for my semester abroad. Despite current pandemic situation my semester in Remagen was at the same time busy, challenging, interesting and very beneficial. I gained professional and personal knowledge and experience, which I think will play a great role in my future development.
In this semester I had the chance to cover interesting courses and work as an intern at RheinAhrCampus and it helped me to get more open-minded and flexible to different situations.
During the semester, I had the chance to work on my soft skills that are crucial for my future career. I worked on my presentation skills and speaking or giving a presentation in front of people is not a problem for me anymore. Also, I gained skills like flexibility, working in a team, empathy and hard work. In addition to academic advantages, my semester in RheinAhrCampus played a big role in my personal development. Everything was new to me in Germany. People’s lifestyle, attitudes, working, and social environment, culture, language, etc.
Exchange semester in RheinAhrCampus benefited me not only in professional way. Here I met such a lovely people with whom I experienced a lot of nice moments. With these people I explored the many places I am sure that this friendship will not end only with this months.
One of the biggest advantages of my exchange semester was making new friends and expanding the network. Remagen is fairly small but still somehow manages to bring many cultures together. I had a chance to meet a lot of people from various countries and even more from different continents: South America, Australia, Africa, Asia, and Europe for sure. And believe me this journey of exploring new people, cultures and personalities is super interesting. While having communication with them I have found out what are the differences between our countries, cultures, and people. I remember that after a few weeks from my arrival in Germany, I already had a better understanding of the world.
Also, I want to mention small excursions to close cities. I had a chance to visit Trier, Dusseldorf, Mainz, Brul, Koblenz, Cologne and Bonn. This cities really impressed me with their architecture and beautiful vibes.
Last but not least I want to express my thankfulness to every single person whom I met while being in Germany, because they have been part of my life and memories.
