My Second Semester Here

Winter 2015 was my second semester at RheinAhrCampus. This semester was as good as the spring semester. After my first semester I decided to stay for another semester and it was completely worth it.
I got to meet new international students from different countries and said goodbye to a few friends I made last semester.
During the whole semester many trips and extracurricular activities were organized for international students. I particularly enjoyed the time of Christmas. It was my first Christmas and it was a wonderful experience visiting all the Christmas markets full of people and interesting stalls with plenty of “Lebkuchen” and “Glühwein”. The Christmas party for international students was fun. I played Secret Santa for the first time and got to know many traditional cuisines from different countries and made new friends.
Besides all the fun, the studies were also going along with a good pace. I took German language this semester again to improve my language skills. The course was very well organized and very helpful for all international students. My understanding and speaking is much better now and I hope to make it good.
Winter is a very beautiful and festive time here in Germany. The warmth of festivals and celebrations in winters make it easier to live through the cold weather and continuous raining (which is not that bad).
My favorite part about winters in Germany is its landscape. The whole landscape is covered with snow and it is all white and magical. Though it was not snowing that much this year, it was enough to enjoy it.
All in all it was a great experience. Time flies very fast, it seems like yesterday I wrote my experience report for spring semester and its already the end of winter semester.
