Never a Moment of Boredom along the Rhein
Asma from Jordan, Winter Semester 2013/2014
The first semester of my year in Germany started in Remagen at RheinAhrCampus. I cannot say it wasn’t a surprise to be in such a small place as Remagen; however I can say now with great joy that it has been one of the best decisions that I have made to come here. Coming from a city like Amman in Jordan, with a population of at least 3 million, it was a little strange to be in such a quiet town with fewer people, and also in a town that would be described as “Smurfs Land”, where everyone was happy, and people greeted you on the street when you are walking, I can say I miss that already now that I have moved a little farther
On campus, our teachers helped us and the staff was the kindest. I can also say from my experience that even students here are very helpful, as we were helped by other German students during exam periods, and this not only helps in studying, but also is a chance to make new friends.
The experiences that I have gained during my semester here at RheinAhrCampus cannot be traded for the world, whether it is the people that I have met, the friends for life that I have made, or the activities that I have done with my friends in Remagen. But there will always be this one little thing that I can say I loved the most about Remagen, and that is the river Rhein. No matter how many times you have walked alongside the Rhein, you will never grow bored of it, and it will take your breath away every single time, especially when the weather is nice and it’s summer, it is absolutely wonderful!
With all that said I can wrap up my experience as an experience that will be put into my list of the best experiences of my life. It was sad leaving this place, but it will always be a place to go back to after.
