Waking Up to Birds Singing
Luna from Jordan, Summer Semester 2016
As I am a German Jordanian University student, I am obliged to have an exchange semester in one of our partner universities in Germany. However I never knew how amazing this experience would be until I came to Hochschule Koblenz RheinAhrCampus.
Ever since I can remember, I have always dreamt of living in a big busy city like New York or Dubai. This has absolutely changed upon my arrival to the cozy Remagen. All I think of now is finding an internship in a city as beautiful and peaceful as Remagen. Waking up to birds singing and walking aside the river to the university were just enough to make my day.
Thanks to the Sprachen/Internationales Office at the RAC, I have had an organized lecture schedule with enough time to explore Germany and Europe. Being an exchange student at this university, gave me the opportunity to understand the German way of thinking and approaches businesses use while taking courses related to my major such as; Marketing. In addition to that, not only my German language skills were enhanced but also my leadership and communication skills during Ethical Leadership and Intercultural Communications classes. One of the courses I took called International Business Simulations opened the door for me to meet Refugees in Remagen and work on projects for them to engage in the German community. As a matter of fact, we shared several Iftars together in Ramadan.
I am feeling sad for leaving and I will miss everything here. But I know by now that I am leaving Remagen with knowledge regarding my major, skills learned, memories to remember, stories to laugh at, and amazing friends from different nationalities who were always there for me and who I can call family.
