Robert in Tbilisi, Georgia
Hello, I'm Robert and I was at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University in Georgia in the winter semester 20/21.
During my time abroad, I learned a lot about the country and the many different influences of Georgian culture. The Georgians are all very friendly and hospitable, you are always invited to something to eat or drink.
The food is very tasty, you can choose between khachapuri (bread with cheese filling), khinkali (filled noodle pockets) and many other fresh dishes. The landscape is very varied, there are mountains in the Caucasus, the Black Sea, but also many wine-growing regions, for which Georgia is known.
The university offers a wide variety of courses from many fields. Unfortunately, I didn't get that much of the university myself in my semester, my lectures were only held via zoom and I was only once in the university building due to the corona virus.
The city of Tbilisi itself is very lively and you can find a little something special on every corner. It's easy to get around town by metro, taxi and on foot. There are many very nice restaurants and cafés and you can tell that young people are trying to break away from old patterns and create something new.
I made many new international friendships and spent a lot of time with the other Erasmus + students. I would come back here anytime.
