Dr. Victor Thiessen (Brock University) 2019
Leadership and History - International Business Communication
Dr. Victor Thiessen, Instructor and Facilitator at Brock University, joined the faculty team as a visiting lecturer. Dr. Thiessen has visited Germany several times - both as an exchange student and as a researcher. He completed his undergraduate studies at Brock University and attained his Master's Degree and his PhD at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.
He has more than 20 years of experience in academic teaching and student support, mainly in the fields of Medieval and Renaissance studies.
Brock University is a long-standing partner university of Koblenz University of Applied Sciences. Many students and lecturers of our university have already spent time in Canada on research projects, study abroad semesters and as visiting scholars. Dr. Thiessen's visit to our university is part of the exchange activities in the framework of the in the context of ERASMUS+ mobility with partner countries.
Dr. Thiessen is teaching two international electives during the second teaching term of the winter semester:

The participants of these electives can develop their English speaking and writing skills - and they can work on a wide range of creative and challenging topics both in class and for their assignments.
In addition, Dr. Thiessen was directly involved in the multi-cultural seminar Managing Cultural Diversity 2019 and offered a study abroad information session with a focus on Studying in Canada. This way, he also helped to foster the student exchange activities between our universities! Thanks for adding a Canadian perspective to our campus life!
