Prof. Dr. Jerome Christia 2016 (Coastal Carolina University)
International Marketing
Prof. Dr. Jerome Christia is a Professor of Marketing at the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration at Coastal Carolina University, which is located in South Carolina, USA.
Since South Carolina and Rhineland Palatinate are sister states, Coastal Carolina University developed a partnership with Fachhochschule Koblenz. As a result of this partnership, CCU send a group of students every May to Remagen to study with the faculty and work with the students at RheinAhrCampus as part of its May Term travel abroad program.
Prof. Christia visited the Rhineland with a group of CCU students some years ago. He met students and faculty at RheinAhrCampus and used his stay to expore the Rhineland.
In Summer 2016, Prof. Christia taught three courses at RheinAhrCampus as a guest professor from May to July (second teaching term):
- Monday, 11:45 - 15: 45 B 51 Consumer Market Analysis (B.A.), Room D 128
- Monday, 16:00 - 19:15 B 07b International Study Skills: International Marketing (M.A.), D 128
- Tuesday, 11:45 - 15:45 B 05 Services Marketing (M.A.), Room A 013
The students had to write papers, deal with project assignments and participate in discussions - and they enjoyed this opportunity to improve their English skills while adding an international perspective to their studies. This is Prof. Christia's report about his experience:
My time at Hochschule Koblenz in Remagen, Germany was an exciting, educational, and exceptional 2016 summer teaching experience. Overall, the environment was very friendly and welcoming. It was truly a treat to be immersed in German culture. Faculty, staff, and students were encouraging, supportive, and accommodating. I was thoroughly impressed by the level of professionalism exhibited by the faculty and staff. I was comforted by the fact that our future is in good hands, after several weeks of interaction and engagement with such bright, ambitious, and open-minded students who thirst for knowledge and accomplishment. It was heartwarming to have open, deep discussions with students who are grounded in academics, global and cultural awareness, unselfishness, and community service. Thanks Hochschule Koblenz for allowing me the opportunity to have one of the most memorable experiences that I have ever had.
